A fire and smoke barrier system for the void between the floor slab edge and the back of a curtain wall. That void runs around every floor of the building. Left unsealed, it works as a vertical shaft — fire and smoke pass floor to floor through it, bypassing every compartment wall in the building.
FaçadeGuard closes the void and holds the compartment line at the slab edge, maintaining both fire and smoke integrity. It is built to accommodate the movement, deflection and thermal cycling a facade perimeter sees in service, so the seal stays continuous over the life of the building rather than cracking open after installation.
Specified on curtain wall and glazed facade perimeters in high-rise commercial towers, data centres, hospitals, hotels and residential buildings, and on facade retrofit and recladding works.
